Advanced category

Anyone who has been practicing and training diligently for some time gradually becomes advanced, which opens up opportunities for further involvement in the Kali club and subsequent development. The main reason should always be the desire for personal development and growth. However, everyone has a different opinion – some people are satisfied with just exercising, others want sparring, and still others long for awards and a broader role within Kali, etc. You can read about how it all works in the following lines.

The advancement of a practitioner does not lie solely in increasing the demands and number of techniques learned, but above all in precision and the ability to apply basic techniques in response to a given situation. At the same time, they must also demonstrate their skills in sparring, which is an alternative to preparing for actual combat. Depending on the level of advancement, sparring itself is divided into six groups, which determine the degree of protection and thus the ability of the individual to compete in a given category. Everything is, of course, done with regard to ability and health protection. Students can also verify their skills, experience, and knowledge through exams for a given level.

Some students want to be able to compare and evaluate themselves within the framework of the examination. For them, there is the option of taking an exam for a specific level, which can be taken voluntarily after six months at the earliest, but no later than one year. The exam is always evaluated by at least two instructors (or an instructor and advanced students) and the student is informed of its progress and success immediately after it has been taken. The exam is divided into three parts: technical, theoretical, and subsequent defense. These exams are mandatory for instructor candidates and instructors.

However, the foundation that stands above all of the above points is the ability to understand the essence of techniques and movement so that students are able to pass on this knowledge without losing quality or meaning and strive to improve it through constant diligence. Only through this approach is it possible to inspire and support future generations of PT-AK students.
